Homework and Presidential Address

5th Grade - Test Thursday
6th Grade - Finish Response to Presidential Speech
7th Grade - Finish Response to Presidential Speech, Work on Project
8th Grade - Test Tomorrow
Earth Science - None

The worksheet that went along with the speech from the President was designed for active listening and constructive response. If your child forgot or lost the worksheet, the questions are as follows:
  1. Compare your thought to the President's message. Were they the same? Were they different? How
  2. Explain how someone in your life is an example of personal responsibility. What qualities make them successful?
  3. Describe your own personal goals. Is anything standing in the way of meeting those goals?
  4. Recall if President Obama mentioned any of these struggles. Do you think anyone else is facing those same struggles?
  5. What can you do to overcome these obstacles and reach your goals? Remember, personal responsibility and persistence are important.
