Objective: Each student is to create a collage to represent a county in South Carolina. The collage must be in the shape of the county. No student may do Charleston County.
Research: Each student is required to consider and take notes on the following elements before constructing a county collage. When research is complete, you should plan possible ways to represent this information through visual arts.
| 1. Economy | Current Unemployment Rates, Major Employers, Poverty Rates |
| 2. Political | US Representative, State Senator, State Representative(s) |
| 3. History | Founding Dates, Major Towns, Important Local, National, or State Histories |
| 4. Cultural | Local tourist destinations, dining, entertainment |
| 5. Current Events | Headlines from local newspapers. |
Assessment: Students will be graded according to the following rubric.

You will be given ample time in class to prepare. Pay close attention for announcements of work days and due dates.
