Assignment:

Produce a briefing on the current events unfolding in Egypt.

Audience:

§ President Barack Obama

§ Secretary of State Hillary Clinton

§ Department of State

Briefing Must Include:

1) Cover Report – Summarize the issue and your advice in a one page letter addressed to the President (10 points)

2) Egypt Map – Must include the locations of riots, major cities, and resources (10 points)

3) New Clips – At least one newspaper article from each member of your group. Simply print this off the internet and write a one paragraph summary of its contents. (40 points)

4) Timeline – On one side, show the government’s actions. On the other, show the reaction of the people. (20 points)

5) Biography – A one-page biography of the Egyptian president (as of 2/2/11) (10 points)

6) Fact Sheet – Use the CIA World Factbook to produce a one page report on all major points Egypt (Economy, Government, Resources, Etc.) (10 points)

7) Options for Action – What should the United States do? Include possible consequences of each action. You must have at least 3 options. (30 points)

8) Supplemental Documents – AT LEAST two documents of your own choosing. What do you think should be included in this report? (20 points)
