The tenth president of the United States died 149 years ago yesterday. His story is a very interesting one. The first president to assume the office after the death of his predecessor, many people thought he wasn't the president according to the Constitution. We have since clarified the order of succession (only after the death of JFK), but Tyler's time in office was not without little controversy. His own party even kicked him out, causing Tyler to name his home "Sherwood Forest" as he felt like the noble Robin Hood, forced to live a life of political exile.
